Join the team at the top - choose your altitude!
The Cairngorms, in the Central Highlands of Scotland, form the largest area of high ground in Britain. The range is home to five of Britains six highest peaks. The alpine-arctic climate that dominates this mountain range has created a unique environment which is internationally valued for its landscape quality, rare habitats, scientific interest and not least its recreational opportunities.
Cairngorm (4084 ft), one of those peaks, stands on the NW edge of the range to which it gives its name. The range is Britains largest National Nature Reserve and is part of Scotland's second National Park.
The summer visitor season runs from May to October. The winter operating season typically runs from Christmas until the end of April, snow conditions permitting.
