If you do drive, we currently operate a voluntary carbon tax scheme which asks for a £1 donation per car - you're very welcome to give more though - it's put towards projects to help manage the mountain area more sustainably, for example with new footpath trails. From Aviemore (just off the A9 main trunk road) take the B970 and follow it all the way to CairnGorm Mountain - it's about 9 miles.
